CWE-79  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:6 php-tidy to version 0:5.3.2-6.el6_0.1 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2011:0195.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream php-tidy package and not the php-tidy package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

The utf8_decode function in PHP before 5.3.4 does not properly handle non-shortest form UTF-8 encoding and ill-formed subsequences in UTF-8 data, which makes it easier for remote attackers to bypass cross-site scripting (XSS) and SQL injection protection mechanisms via a crafted string.
