NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream w3m-img package and not the w3m-img package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

w3m through 0.5.3 does not properly handle temporary files when the ~/.w3m directory is unwritable, which allows a local attacker to craft a symlink attack to overwrite arbitrary files.
