NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream bsdcpio package and not the bsdcpio package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:7 relevant fixed versions and status.

libarchive before 3.2.0 does not limit the number of recursive decompressions, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption and application crash) via a crafted gzip file.
