CVE-2019-14513  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-119  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:7 dnsmasq to version 0:2.76-2.el7 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHBA-2017:2117.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream dnsmasq package and not the dnsmasq package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:7 relevant fixed versions and status.

Improper bounds checking in Dnsmasq before 2.76 allows an attacker controlled DNS server to send large DNS packets that result in a read operation beyond the buffer allocated for the packet, a different vulnerability than CVE-2017-14491.
