CWE-392  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-119  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:7 libtasn1-devel to version 0:3.3-5.el7_0 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2014:0687.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libtasn1-devel package and not the libtasn1-devel package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:7 relevant fixed versions and status.

The asn1_get_bit_der function in GNU Libtasn1 before 3.6 does not properly report an error when a negative bit length is identified, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause out-of-bounds access via crafted ASN.1 data.
