CWE-1333  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

There is no fixed version for RHEL:7 openshift4/ose-monitoring-plugin-rhel8.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openshift4/ose-monitoring-plugin-rhel8 package and not the openshift4/ose-monitoring-plugin-rhel8 package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:7 relevant fixed versions and status.

Impact:

A bad regular expression is generated any time you have multiple sequential optional groups (curly brace syntax), such as {a}{b}{c}:z. The generated regex grows exponentially with the number of groups, causing denial of service.

Patches:

Fixed in version 8.4.0.

Workarounds:

Limit the number of sequential optional groups in route patterns. Avoid passing user-controlled input as route patterns.
