CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:7 php-pear to version 1:1.9.4-23.el7_9 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2022:7340.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream php-pear package and not the php-pear package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:7 relevant fixed versions and status.

Archive_Tar through 1.4.10 has :// filename sanitization only to address phar attacks, and thus any other stream-wrapper attack (such as file:// to overwrite files) can still succeed.
