CVE-2019-8325  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-88  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:7 rubygems to version 0:2.0.14.1-35.el7_6 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2019:1235.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream rubygems package and not the rubygems package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:7 relevant fixed versions and status.

An issue was discovered in RubyGems 2.6 and later through 3.0.2. Since Gem::CommandManager#run calls alert_error without escaping, escape sequence injection is possible. (There are many ways to cause an error.)
