NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream 389-ds:1.4/389-ds-base-snmp package and not the 389-ds:1.4/389-ds-base-snmp package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. The dereference control plugin does not check for allocation failure before using a BER structure, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash the LDAP server when the system is under memory pressure.
