CWE-288  (opens in a new tab)

Upgrade RHEL:8 haproxy to version 0:1.8.23-3.el8_2.1 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2024:9945.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream haproxy package and not the haproxy package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

HAProxy before 2.8.2 accepts # as part of the URI component, which might allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information or have unspecified other impact upon misinterpretation of a path_end rule, such as routing index.html#.png to a static server.
