CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:8 libtiff to version 0:4.0.9-32.el8_10 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2024:5079.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libtiff package and not the libtiff package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

A segment fault (SEGV) flaw was found in libtiff that could be triggered by passing a crafted tiff file to the TIFFReadRGBATileExt() API. This flaw allows a remote attacker to cause a heap-buffer overflow, leading to a denial of service.
