NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream python38-pyyaml package and not the python38-pyyaml package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

In PyYAML before 5.1, the yaml.load() API could execute arbitrary code if used with untrusted data. The load() function has been deprecated in version 5.1 and the 'UnsafeLoader' has been introduced for backward compatibility with the function.
