CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:8 python3-pillow to version 0:5.1.1-12.el8_2 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2020:3185.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream python3-pillow package and not the python3-pillow package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

In libImaging/SgiRleDecode.c in Pillow through 7.0.0, a number of out-of-bounds reads exist in the parsing of SGI image files, a different issue than CVE-2020-5311.
