CWE-276  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:9 cloud-init to version 0:24.4-4.el9_6.3 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2025:10848.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream cloud-init package and not the cloud-init package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:9 relevant fixed versions and status.

When a non-x86 platform is detected, cloud-init grants root access to a hardcoded url with a local IP address. To prevent this, cloud-init default configurations disable platform enumeration.
