CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:9 libgs-devel to version 0:9.54.0-16.el9_4 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2024:3999.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libgs-devel package and not the libgs-devel package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:9 relevant fixed versions and status.

An issue was discovered in Artifex Ghostscript before 10.03.1. contrib/opvp/gdevopvp.c allows arbitrary code execution via a custom Driver library, exploitable via a crafted PostScript document. This occurs because the Driver parameter for opvp (and oprp) devices can have an arbitrary name for a dynamic library; this library is then loaded.
