CWE-212  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:9 ruby:3.3/ruby-default-gems to version 0:3.3.8-4.module+el9.5.0+23030+26c9b8e1 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2025:4493.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream ruby:3.3/ruby-default-gems package and not the ruby:3.3/ruby-default-gems package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:9 relevant fixed versions and status.

In the URI gem before 1.0.3 for Ruby, the URI handling methods (URI.join, URI#merge, URI#+) have an inadvertent leakage of authentication credentials because userinfo is retained even after changing the host.
