CWE-399  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:12.04 apache2 to version 2.2.22-1ubuntu1.7 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream apache2 package and not the apache2 package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:12.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

The mod_cgid module in the Apache HTTP Server before 2.4.10 does not have a timeout mechanism, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (process hang) via a request to a CGI script that does not read from its stdin file descriptor.
