CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:12.04 chromium-browser to version 36.0.1985.125-0ubuntu1.12.04.0~pkg897 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream chromium-browser package and not the chromium-browser package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:12.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

The ResourceFetcher::canRequest function in core/fetch/ResourceFetcher.cpp in Blink, as used in Google Chrome before 36.0.1985.125, does not properly restrict subresource requests associated with SVG files, which allows remote attackers to bypass the Same Origin Policy via a crafted file.
