CVE-2012-3437  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:12.04 imagemagick to version 8:6.6.9.7-5ubuntu3.2 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream imagemagick package and not the imagemagick package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:12.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

The Magick_png_malloc function in coders/png.c in ImageMagick 6.7.8 and earlier does not use the proper variable type for the allocation size, which might allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted PNG file that triggers incorrect memory allocation.
