CWE-119  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:12.04 sqlite3 to version 3.7.9-2ubuntu1.2 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream sqlite3 package and not the sqlite3 package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:12.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

The sqlite3VXPrintf function in printf.c in SQLite before 3.8.9 does not properly handle precision and width values during floating-point conversions, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (integer overflow and stack-based buffer overflow) or possibly have unspecified other impact via large integers in a crafted printf function call in a SELECT statement.
