CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:12.10 gnome-screensaver to version 3.6.0-0ubuntu2.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream gnome-screensaver package and not the gnome-screensaver package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:12.10 relevant fixed versions and status.

The default configuration in gnome-screensaver 3.5.4 through 3.6.0 sets the AutostartCondition line to fallback mode in the .desktop file, which prevents the program from starting automatically after login and allows physically proximate attackers to bypass screen locking and access an unattended workstation.
