NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream pidgin package and not the pidgin package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:12.10 relevant fixed versions and status.

The STUN protocol implementation in libpurple in Pidgin before 2.10.8 allows remote STUN servers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds write operation and application crash) by triggering a socket read error.
