CWE-119  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:14.04 wireshark to version 1.12.1+g01b65bf-4+deb8u11ubuntu0.14.04.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream wireshark package and not the wireshark package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:14.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

epan/dissectors/packet-gsm_cbch.c in the GSM CBCH dissector in Wireshark 1.12.x before 1.12.11 and 2.0.x before 2.0.3 uses the wrong variable to index an array, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds access and application crash) via a crafted packet.
