Upgrade Ubuntu:16.04
libxdmcp
to version 1:1.1.2-1.1ubuntu0.1~esm1 or higher.
NVD Description
Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libxdmcp
package and not the libxdmcp
package as distributed by Ubuntu
.
See How to fix?
for Ubuntu:16.04
relevant fixed versions and status.
It was discovered that libXdmcp before 1.1.2 including used weak entropy to generate session keys. On a multi-user system using xdmcp, a local attacker could potentially use information available from the process list to brute force the key, allowing them to hijack other users' sessions.
