CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:16.04 wireshark to version 2.6.3-1~ubuntu16.04.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream wireshark package and not the wireshark package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:16.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

The dissect_wccp2r1_address_table_info function in epan/dissectors/packet-wccp.c in the WCCP dissector in Wireshark 1.12.x before 1.12.7 does not prevent the conflicting use of a table for both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted packet.
