CWE-674  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:18.04 apr-util to version 1.6.1-2ubuntu0.1+esm1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream apr-util package and not the apr-util package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:18.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

A bug in APR-util version 1.6.3 (and earlier) allows a stack recursion attack against any library consumer which parses XML from untrusted sources and uses the apr_xml_quote_elem() function.

Users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.6.4, which fixes this issue.
