How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:20.04 sudo to version 1.8.31-1ubuntu1.2 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream sudo package and not the sudo package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:20.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

Sudo before 1.9.5p2 contains an off-by-one error that can result in a heap-based buffer overflow, which allows privilege escalation to root via "sudoedit -s" and a command-line argument that ends with a single backslash character.
