NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream yaml-cpp package and not the yaml-cpp package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:20.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

The function "Token& Scanner::peek" in scanner.cpp in yaml-cpp 0.5.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure and application exit) via a '!2' string.
