How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:24.04 qemu to version 1:8.2.2+ds-0ubuntu1.10 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream qemu package and not the qemu package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:24.04 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in the QEMU disk image utility (qemu-img) 'info' command. A specially crafted image file containing a json:{} value describing block devices in QMP could cause the qemu-img process on the host to consume large amounts of memory or CPU time, leading to denial of service or read/write to an existing external file.
