CWE-369  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Ubuntu:24.10 qemu to version 1:8.1.3+ds-1ubuntu1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream qemu package and not the qemu package as distributed by Ubuntu. See How to fix? for Ubuntu:24.10 relevant fixed versions and status.

QEMU through 8.0.0 could trigger a division by zero in scsi_disk_reset in hw/scsi/scsi-disk.c because scsi_disk_emulate_mode_select does not prevent s->qdev.blocksize from being 256. This stops QEMU and the guest immediately.
