CWE-88  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Alpine:3.16 rssh to version 2.3.4-r2 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream rssh package and not the rssh package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.16 relevant fixed versions and status.

Insufficient sanitization of arguments passed to rsync can bypass the restrictions imposed by rssh, a restricted shell that should restrict users to perform only rsync operations, resulting in the execution of arbitrary shell commands.
