CWE-203  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Alpine:3.18 hostapd to version 2.10-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream hostapd package and not the hostapd package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.18 relevant fixed versions and status.

The implementations of SAE in hostapd before 2.10 and wpa_supplicant before 2.10 are vulnerable to side channel attacks as a result of cache access patterns. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2019-9494.
