CWE-119  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Alpine:3.20 dnsmasq to version 2.78-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream dnsmasq package and not the dnsmasq package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.20 relevant fixed versions and status.

Heap-based buffer overflow in dnsmasq before 2.78 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or execute arbitrary code via a crafted DNS response.
