CVE-2020-15778  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-78  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Alpine:3.20 openssh to version 8.3_p1-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openssh package and not the openssh package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.20 relevant fixed versions and status.

scp in OpenSSH through 8.3p1 allows command injection in the scp.c toremote function, as demonstrated by backtick characters in the destination argument. NOTE: the vendor reportedly has stated that they intentionally omit validation of "anomalous argument transfers" because that could "stand a great chance of breaking existing workflows."
