CVE-2021-45444  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Alpine:3.20 zsh to version 5.8.1-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream zsh package and not the zsh package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.20 relevant fixed versions and status.

In zsh before 5.8.1, an attacker can achieve code execution if they control a command output inside the prompt, as demonstrated by a %F argument. This occurs because of recursive PROMPT_SUBST expansion.
