CVE-2019-15161  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-131  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Alpine:3.21 libpcap to version 1.9.1-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libpcap package and not the libpcap package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.21 relevant fixed versions and status.

rpcapd/daemon.c in libpcap before 1.9.1 mishandles certain length values because of reuse of a variable. This may open up an attack vector involving extra data at the end of a request.
