CWE-665  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Alpine:3.21 openjpeg to version 2.5.0-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openjpeg package and not the openjpeg package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.21 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in the opj2_decompress program in openjpeg2 2.4.0 in the way it handles an input directory with a large number of files. When it fails to allocate a buffer to store the filenames of the input directory, it calls free() on an uninitialized pointer, leading to a segmentation fault and a denial of service.
