CWE-310  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Alpine:3.3 nss to version 3.20.2-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream nss package and not the nss package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.3 relevant fixed versions and status.

The s_mp_div function in lib/freebl/mpi/mpi.c in Mozilla Network Security Services (NSS) before 3.21, as used in Mozilla Firefox before 44.0, improperly divides numbers, which might make it easier for remote attackers to defeat cryptographic protection mechanisms by leveraging use of the (1) mp_div or (2) mp_exptmod function.
