CWE-59  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Chainguard postgresql-13 to version 13.20-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream postgresql-13 package and not the postgresql-13 package as distributed by Chainguard. See How to fix? for Chainguard relevant fixed versions and status.

The Debian pg_ctlcluster, pg_createcluster, and pg_upgradecluster scripts, as distributed in the Debian postgresql-common package before 181+deb9u1 for PostgreSQL (and other packages related to Debian and Ubuntu), handled symbolic links insecurely, which could result in local denial of service by overwriting arbitrary files.
