CWE-681  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade FFmpeg to version 9.0.1 or higher.

Overview

FFmpeg is a FFmpeg static library ruby binding that is compiled for iOS and CocoaPods.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Conversion between Numeric Types via an incorrect integer narrowing conversion in the AV1 RTP packetizer (libavformat/rtpenc_av1.c). An attacker can cause an out-of-bounds memory access by supplying an AV1 OBU with a sufficiently large size value. On platforms where long is 32 bits, the OBU size is narrowed and may become negative before the bounds check, allowing an oversized payload to pass validation and subsequently be used as a copy length.

Note: This specifically affects platforms where long is 32 bits, including 64-bit Windows.
