CVE-2025-69649  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-476  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

A fix was pushed into the master branch but not yet published.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to NULL Pointer Dereference in the readelf process when parsing a specially crafted ELF binary with malformed header fields. An attacker can cause the application to crash by convincing a user to process a malicious file. This is only exploitable if a user processes an untrusted ELF binary with readelf.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding the processing of untrusted, unverified, or externally supplied ELF binaries with the readelf program.
