There is no fixed version for binutils.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to NULL Pointer Dereference via the readelf process. An attacker can cause the application to crash or exhaust system resources by convincing a user to process a specially crafted ELF file.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding the processing of untrusted or suspicious ELF files with the readelf utility.
