Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the config_input() and denoise_spatial() functions of the vf_hqdn3d filter, which sizes its working buffers for the initial frame dimensions and does not resize them when a later frame is larger. An attacker can corrupt heap memory, which can lead to code execution, by supplying a video whose frame resolution increases between frames while the hqdn3d filter runs with filtergraph reinitialization disabled. Exploitation requires the filtergraph to use hqdn3d with the non-default -reinit_filter 0 option, since the default reinitialization behavior reconfigures the filter on a size change and avoids the overflow.
