CWE-190  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade glib to version 2.85.3 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Integer Overflow or Wraparound via the g_string_maybe_expand function. An attacker can cause a crash or memory corruption by appending untrusted input to a GString without proper size checks, potentially resulting in denial of service.

Note:

This is only exploitable if unusually large string allocations are permitted and untrusted input is appended to a GString without size validation.
