CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

A fix was pushed into the master branch but not yet published.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the sun decoder. An attacker can cause an out-of-bounds heap write by submitting a specially crafted image file. This is only exploitable if the software is running on a 32-bit system and processes untrusted image files.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding the processing of untrusted or maliciously crafted image files on 32-bit systems, and by limiting the sources of image files processed.
