How to fix?

A fix was pushed into the master branch but not yet published.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Integer Underflow (Wrap or Wraparound) through the encoding loop that fails to reset the temporary size variable between iterations in the ISO-2022-JP encoder. An attacker can corrupt stack and heap memory by providing crafted DOM tree content that drives the stale size value used in the subtraction and thus causes memcpy to run with a negative length.
