Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Symlink Attack. via the getfattr or setfattr process. An attacker can gain elevated privileges by substituting a symbolic link for a pathname component during directory traversal, causing operations to be redirected to arbitrary files when invoked by a privileged process over an attacker-controlled path.
