Overview
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) via the inflate process. An attacker can cause unbounded memory allocation leading to application or service crashes by sending specially crafted, highly compressed WebSocket payloads that trigger excessive memory usage during decompression before payload size validation occurs. This is only exploitable if the default permessage-deflate configuration is used and no decompressed size limit is set for client connections.
