Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Underwrite (Buffer Underflow) in the ssh_get_hexa() function on invalid input. An attacker can cause a buffer underflow and potentially execute arbitrary code or crash the application by supplying specially crafted input.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by disabling GSSAPI authentication if it is not required, or by reducing the LogLevel in the sshd_config file to a value lower than SSH_LOG_PACKET (e.g., INFO).
