CWE-476  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade mbedtls to version 3.6.4 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to NULL Pointer Dereference via the mbedtls_asn1_store_named_data function. An attacker can cause a crash and denial of service by providing input that results in a NULL pointer with a non-zero length value.

Note:

This only affects applications that create (as opposed to consume) X.509 certificates, CSRs or CRLS, or that call mbedtls_asn1_store_named_data() directly.
